Description

flying "on the deck"

The serial number 5698 is marked on the bottom of the frame in two places

typical of the style

It bears an S marked over the chamber to indicate modification for the S-PATRONE cartridge introduced in 1903 (we do not recommend firing the S-cartridge in this carbine)

but it still functions properly and is quite sharp

Original U.S. WWII Named 774th Bombardment Squadron, 463rd Bombardment Group B-17 Pilot Grouping For 1st Lieutenant Ken Dunkel - 70 Items Category_MG 42 Ammo Storage flying "on the deck"Original Items: Only One Grouping Available. This is a wonderful and rather large grouping attributed to Lieutenant Kenneth F. Dunkel (ASN: 0 1 695 483), a B 17 pilot with the 774th Bombardment Squadron, 463rd Bombardment Group of the 15th Air Force. Dunkel had completed 50 combat missions in the European Theater of Operations and on September 17, 1944, while awaiting return to the United States, he was struck by a British truck while playing football
